Veterans Get Special Care Here

Robert Cadogan served his country. His brother Wally knew how important it was to Robert to have his service to his country be a part of his final arrangements. Robert expressed to Wally his preference for Cremation, and his remains were interred in a place of honor at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois beside his wife, who had passed before Robert. The tradition of a military service includes the American Flag being presented to the family with the condolences of the President of the United States and the thanks of a Grateful Nation. Wally described Gibbons Funeral Home military service as “outstanding”.

Wally was guided by Marya Gibbons to assist in the arrangements, see that his brother’s wishes were honored, and that all of the services Robert earned as a Veteran were secured for the family. Wally stated that the Gibbons Family walked him through the process step by step and ensured every detail was addressed. Afterwards he wrote a note to express his gratitude for “taking such good care of my brother”. Marya replied that “it’s wonderful to receive these notes, but the honor is truly ours to be able to take care of Veterans and their families. It’s a privilege for us”.
